This reminds me of two similar incidents in my life. The first being when I was about 19yrs old. One night I was awakened several times during the night by my mom screaming "Oh No! I forgot, I forgot, I forgot." Then she would lay back down and sleep before repeating the scene again an hour later. Early the next morning we got a phone call that my Aunt (my mom's younger sister) had passed away unexpectedly. My mom sat on the bed crying and saying over and over, "I forgot, I forgot, I forgot!" Wheniasked her what she forgot and if I could do anything she told me that she had meant to call her sister the day before.

The other event that came to mind is about my grandparents, whom I spent many summers with as a kid. After we were married we lived one town over from them and saw them often. When we moved away(18 hrs away) my grandfather needed surgery and I flew home to be with the family. As soon as I knew the surgery had gone well, I flew back North. The next day, I got a call that he had fallen and hit his head. He had died instantly. A few years later, we had planned a trip South for Heath's brother's wedding. On the way home we planned to go and see my family. Driving from South Florida to Alabama I got the phone call that my grandmother had passed away in her sleep.

It is hard to loose loved ones unexpectedly, but I have learned how to celebrate the memories and make the most ofthe time I have left with all of my other loved ones. Thanks for the post and the reminder.
